Michael Date
I live in Mankato, Minnesota. I am also an intern at Lime Valley Advertising here in Mankato. One of my interests in drawing.
My design style is illustrative when dealing with vector based artwork. I use a grid based layout when dealing with raster based artwork.
In five to ten years, I would like to be employed at a graphic design firm or working at a company in the design field. I would preferrably like to work in the Mankato area.
I chose Graphic Communications at South Central College because I saw graphic design as the best opportunity for my future career. It has allowed me to work in an art related field, where I can create my art with both a pencil and a computer.
Lexy Fenske
Hey there! My name is Lexy Fenske. I am originally from Fulda, Minneosta, so living in Mankato has been a big change! I've worked at Corporate Graphics, but I am currently working at Thayer Publishing as their part-time designer.
My design style is very clean and structered, but also unique and fun in its own way.
In the next five to ten years, I would love to be working from home, running my own business.
I chose the Graphic Communications program at South Central College, because of the wide variety of things I would learn. It wasn't all about design, which was nice, but it was also the production side of Graphic Communications. It is nice having a better understanding of the whole design process.
Ariel Harnitz
Hello, my name is Ariel Harnitz. I was born and raised in Mankato, Minnesota. I graduated from Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial High School in 2013. Track and field, soccer, and wrestling were some of the sports that I enjoyed during high school.
I have always been the artistic one in the family. I love drawing, painting, and being creative.
The Graphic Communications program at South Central College has taught me many things and has been a wonderful experience.
Lance Kimble
Hello, my name is Lance Kimble. I was born and raised in Madison Lake, Minnesota, and live there to this day. My interests include drawing, reading, gaming, photography, and going to state and national parks. My inspirations include Feng Zhu, Scott Robertson, Stanley Lau, and Jiro Ono.
My design style varies greatly from project to project. I like to make my designs bold and colorful. If a project calls for an artistic touch, I like to draw and paint my own graphics. All of my designs are an expression of my personality.
In five to ten years, I plan on working in the film and gaming industry. My true passion is drawing and painting cool characters, vehicles, and environments. Being a concept artist can take me to any location in the world, but most likely I will move to the west coast.
Mel Klimpel
I was born and raised in Mankato, Minnesota. My interests are anything art, music, sports, the great outdoors, and hanging with my family and friends. I have worked at Mount Kato for the past two winters. It's been great! I love snowboarding. I've been riding for eleven years.
My design style is funky and modern with a splash of color. My freelance work has consisted of a lot of concert/show posters, which involve a bit of typography. I also love to draw so I also get into a bit of an illustrative style as well.
In 5 years, I would like to have graduated from Bemidji State University with my BA in graphic design. I would also like to have been able to travel with my artwork for a few years. I would like to see myself living my dream as a professional artist.

Hello! I've grown up in the Waseca, Minnesota, area and still live there today. I enjoy photography, playing volleyball, making crafts, spending time with family, cute animals, pinning on Pinterest, and (of course!) design. I'm currently a workstudy in the South Central College Graphics Department. I also work at Learning ZoneXpress in Owatonna, Minnesota as an intern.
From my love of design and photography, to my love of arts and crafts, there is never a shortage of creativity and ideas. My design style is clean, fresh, and colorful. I love pushing the envelope and designing something out of the ordinary.
In five to ten years, I want to be a freelance graphic designer, photographer, and professional crafter. I want to make an impact on others and inspire them to do what they love.
Heidi Miller
I live in Mapleton, Minnesota. I currently work at Country Neighbors in Mapleton, Minnesota. It is an assisted living business.
I enjoy spending time with my three boys (ages 3, 5, and 7). I like to read, play games, make crafts, and take photographs.
I like designing for kids, but I also enjoy designing with wild life. I am hoping in five to ten years to have my own photography studio up and running.
I chose Graphic Communications at South Central College, because I have a great imagination.

I live in Owatonna, Minnesota. My interests include art, color, photography, and music. I currently work at Office Max, while going to school full time. I've also worked at a tanning salon and was a CNA for ten years.
I love Graphic Communications! I'm inspired by my classmates and accomplishing goals. I always try to challenge myself with new things and am willing to learn new things!
In the next five to ten years, I want to be living on the west coast. I'll have an amazing career, with my own home, and a pool. I can't wait!
I chose the Graphic Communications program at South Central College, because I love design and being creative. I wanted to follow my heart and dreams... and this program was it!
Travis Rosenau
I live in New Ulm, Minnesota. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, writing, drawing, and spending time with my family. I like to be creative and enjoy coming up with new videos.
In the next five to ten years, I want to be in a job where I can use my design experience, where I can brainstorm, write, and create.
I chose the Graphic Communications program at South Central College, because I like to create, write, draw, and I'm a friendly, people kind of guy!
Alyssa Stenzel
I grew up on a farm near Delavan, Minnesota, and love spending time outdoors, travelling, and spending time with animals and my family. I love to try new things, especially adventurous activities!
Music has always been an important part of my life; not only do I enjoy listening but also participating in the performance. Ancient art inspires my artistic style and choices of subject. In fact, my career choice of an Art teacher has a lot to do with how fascinating I find Ancient Art History to be.
I chose to get a degree in Graphic Communications because I see it giving a me well-rounded experience in the ever-evolving technological side of art and design as well as production.
In the future I intend to be teaching Art and Art History during the school year while free-lancing design and illustration projects in my free time.

I live in Mankato, Minnesota. I go to school full-time and work part-time at VINE: Faith in Action. My work experience lies mostly in the traditional work setting and that is why I am here - to achieve work in a creative setting utilizing my skills!
My design style is closely associated with 90's style work: line heavy with traditional colors. But I also try to shoot for new styles as well!
I chose to get a degree in Graphic Communications at South Central College because I knew it would be something where I could use my creativity. I am much more creative and right minded than left minded, orderly and organized!
Tice VanderHeiden
I was born in Mitchell, South Dakota, and moved to Mankato after I graduated high school in 2009. I am a full-time Graphic Communications student. I got interested in the field from my early passion for art, layout, and design. I stay busy delivering pizzas and also creating artwork at home focusing on collage, painting, and free lance design.
My design style is unique. I like to do my best to make playful, professional designs. My inspiration is my hands on art, which focuses mostly on space and nature. Some of my design elements incorporate hands-on work, then digitalized work giving it a clean multi-media look.
I could see myself starting a small, walk-in design company giving fast solutions to bands, people, and other customers' custom design needs. All while living in an eco-friendly home.

I live in Mankato, Minnesota. I have much work experience with photography and design. My interests include art, photography, and business.
My design style is clean and organized with white space. God and the Bible inspire me.
In five to ten years, I would like to have my own design firm.

I live in Eagle Lake, Minnesota. My interests include photography, raising my son, and outdoor activities. I currently work as a cashier at MVAC Thrift Store. I've gained worked experience while at the Graphic Communications program at South Central College and while working for my cousin at her wedding.
My design style is simple, chic, and colorful. In five to ten years, I'd like to use my design tyle and work in the field of graphic design.
I chose Graphic Communications at South Central College, because I wanted to expand my interest in design. I adore photography! I enjoy having the ability to do more with photos and projects. That's always been my goal.
